You’re continuously learning about your own product & startup, why not do this for your own Product journey? These are my favorite resources to continue learning about Product

At a startup you may not have a massive team of product managers to learn and grow from, so continuously learning from other product professionals is imperative to your career and work.

These are some of my favorite resources for continuous learning:

  1. Meetup: Yes, networking is scary, but it’s also a fantastic learning experience. Finding a group of like-minded professionals in your local (or online!) community is really helpful for growth and development. I recently joined the Nashville Product Meetup group on Meetup and it’s been a great way to meet others in different industries and hear about their professional product journeys.
  2. Product Management Learning and Development from GitLab: This is the biggest gold-mine of Product resources, I could do an entire post on just the resources contained within it.

It contains:

And SO much more!

3. Lenny’s Newsletter: Lenny shares articles about product, growth, and people management. Some articles are free, but the weekly articles are available in a paid subscription via Substack.

Some of my favorite articles are:

4. Product Talk: Product Talk has a blog + newsletter and is really great about continuous discovery lessons and strategies — perfect for a startup product manager balancing customer discovery with millions of other needs.

In fact, here’s an article on how continuous discovery works (and doesn’t) in early stage startups!

5. Mind the Product Slack Channel: In addition to joining some IRL conversations about product, joining conversations online is also an interesting way to continue to grow! Online conversations also open up the network of folks that are able to converse to include multiple countries, time-zones etc. This Slack channel is a dynamic place for Product Managers (and aspiring PMs) to grow, connect and ask questions. It’s a great place for a Startup PM to have on your Slack (next to your own company of course!)

Let me know if there are other resources you enjoy or recommend for startup PMs to continue to learn!
